Playboy started publishing in 1953, and it has always been more than topless ladies. The magazine was meant to take Esquire magazine, where Hugh Hefner started working, to the next level. It has published original fiction and criticismfrom writers like Ray Bradbury and Hunter S. Thompson. It also just compiled its list of the 25 greatest cars of all time.
The list features mostly European cars with American cars being plentiful plus a few Japanese cars sprinkled in as well, and it also mixes very expensive cars with relatively cheap cars that anyone could own.

Some of the choices seem legitimately odd. The BMW 2002 was a great car, but wouldn't a generation of the M3 be a better choice? Also, the MG TC and Jaguar XK120 were great cars, but do they really deserve to be on a list of the greatest cars? A Lotus, like the ElanLotus Elan SprintUnited Kingdom, 1971 > present1 photo

might be better replacements for those cars. Finally, the Chrysler 300 seems like a major reach. Playboy did not make it clear if it was referring to the one from the 50s and 60s or the modern cars. Regardless, it is going to take a great argument to be convincing that it is one of the greatest car of all time.
