Ferrari Sets Record Revenues for 2011

Ferrari has set record revenues of €2.251 billion in 2011, which is an improvement of 17.3% over last year. Ferrari was also able to deliver 7,195 cars in 2011, a 9.5% improvement, and it had an operating profit of €312. 4 million, a 3.2% improvement. 

2011 is the first year that Ferrari managed revenues of over €2 billion. It claims that its personalization catalog was used on 100% of the cars it sold in 2011. It sold 1,958 cars in North America in 2011, a record for Ferrari. It also sold 777 cars in China, a 62.6% increase compared to last year. Ferrari also increased sales of retail goods by 34.5% with a significant portion of that coming from the theme park in Abu Dhabi. 

Ferrari invested €279 million in research and development, which is a slight increase over last year. It holds a net liquidity of €707.5 million. 

“We can only be satisfied with these results. They were achieved against an economic backdrop that remains challenging, particularly in Europe. They are the fruit of heavy investment and a culture of innovation that covers all areas of the business. We now have a complete range of models which will be joined in a few days time at the Geneva Show by a new 12-cylinder. A revolutionary new car that delivers extreme performance and unprecedented power output," said Luca di Montezemolo.
