in semi-knocked down kits in Belarus starting in 2014. The cars will be sold in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. British-Belarusian company UNISON will be responsible for the production and handle the assembly of the cars and training for workers.

"On top of that the delivery of assembly kits to an expanding market means more business for our facilities in Eisenach and Zaragoza”, said Opel Vice President of Manufacturing in Europe Peter Thom.

All of the versions of the Corsa, except the OPC, that Opel currently exports to Russia from Germany will be offered. The cars will be made in Eisenach, Germany, and Zaragoza, Spain, and shipped to Belarus in semi-knocked down kits for final assembly. Opel and UNISON predict that they will assemble 7,000 cars in 2014 and will grow from there.

The contract runs through 2017 when the two companies will reevaluate it.
