Kia wows NAIAS with Stinger

Rear-wheel-drive sports saloon has been on Kia's plan since 2011

's design chief, dream five years ago but it has finally come true. Kia has launched the sports saloon Stinger at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).  The rear-wheel-drive model's goal is to improve Kia's image as a a maker of credible performance cars.

Chassis and dimensions

The Stinger gets a modified Genesis chassis, with 55% built from lightweight high-strength steel. According to Kia the sports saloon it offers reduced levels of noise, vibration and harshness. It was designed in Frankfurt and developed in Nürburgring.
In terms of dimensions the Stinger stands between the BMW 3 Series and 5 Series5 Series Gen.7BMW 5 Series Gen.7Germany, 2017 > present18 versions

. At 4831 it is almost 200mm longer that the 3 Series and 104mm shorter than the 5 Series. Kia's sports saloon has a 1869 width, 1400mm height and a 2906mm wheelbase.

Engine range

which will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 365hp. 
With the GT version Kia is targeting a 5.1 sprint from 0 to 100km/h and a 268km/h top speed. Its main opponents will be the performance versions of the Audi A4A4 Gen.5Audi A4 Gen.5Germany, 2015 > present69 versions
