500X which should be released soon. The Renegade is expected to reach the European and Latin American markets by the end of the year .

The design of the new Renegade is strongly inspired by the more traditional lines of the Wrangler. According to the designers it aimed to make the most of the 4.2m length model and create a greater contrast with the CherokeeCherokee Gen.3 [KL]Jeep Cherokee Gen.3 [KL]United States of America, 2014 > present25 versions

range, thought for families.

Despite having a vertical rear and short overhangs the Renegade still achieves a drag coefficient of 0.36.

The boxy shape of the new Renegade was designed by the brand to create a visual connection between the original military vehicle that gave birth to the Jeep design from 1941. Despite the more classical concept, the mechanics of the new model are much more modern .

The Renegade will share many components of the steel monocoque bodywork in the 500L and 500X. However it receives more specific structures for the suspension configuration.

The car is equipped with electronically assisted steering and disc brakes. The engines are mounted on the front and front-wheel drive versions or one of two all-wheel drive systems will be available.

In Europe, the Renegade will be sold with a range of three petrol and two diesel engines. There will be a 168hp turbo and non-turbo 138hp versions of Fiat's 1.4-liter 16-valve MultiAir engine, plus a 184hp 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder called Tigershark.

The diesel range includes a 1.6 liter 108hp engine, a turbocharged 1.6 with 118hp and a 138hp 2.0 liters and 350Nm of torque.

The engine range of the Renegade can be combined with four different transmissions, depending on the engine choice. A manual four-speed gearbox and a five-speed manual, an automatic dual-clutch six-speed and a conventional nine-speed automatic are available.
