keep showing up, they just will not be special any more. We kid of course. On Friday, we posted about a carbon fiber chassis 962 registered for the road in Japan. Now another has shown for sale in the UK, and five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell signed this one; he drove the 962 to victory twice at Le Mans. Considering the McLaren F1F1McLaren F1United Kingdom, 1992 > present7 photos
that just sold for £3.5 million, the sellers of the 962 are asking a mere £324,995 ($515,846).

The car was originally built for the Dyson Racing in the IMSA GT Championship in the US and has an aluminum monocoque with a carbon fiber body. The original 2.8-liter engine has been replaced with the turbocharged 3.6-liter engine from a 993-chassis GT2911 GT2Porsche 911 GT2Germany, 1995 > present2 photos
with 580hp and 741Nm (547lb-ft) of torque with a five-speed manual transmision. It is fitted with a 120 liter (31.7 gallon) fuel tank and has a dry weight of just 830kg (1830lbs).

The new engine was fitted to make the car drivable on the road. If you saw the video we posted on Friday, then you know the original engines will overheat quickly at low speeds. Specialist Cars has an original 962 engine for sale as well if the buyer would like it as well.

The suspension has been modified with a hydraulic adjustable ride height to handle driveways or speed bumps and features Koni adjustable shocks. The brakes are 350mm (13.9in) units with floating calipers from Brembo with adjustable bias.

Inside, the car is very modern. It has two leather seats, air conditioning, parking sensors, intercom for speaking to the passenger, electric mirrors and removable steering wheel.

An older post on has shed some more light on the Bell Signature Series 962. The car was built in 2004 from a monocoque originally sold to Dyson Racing. The car was never raced and originally sold without an engine. The Signature Edition was assembled by SauberSauberSauberSwitzerland, 1970 > present21 models
