New Featurette Reveals More About 'Rush'

It is schedule for release in September

It was shot at many of the actual tracks where the races took place

If you are a fan of motorsports, especially Formula 1, and not looking forward to "Rush," you must be crazy. The film tells the story of James Hunt and Niki Lauda during the 1976 season, specifically the rivalry between the two men.

The film was shot last year around Europe, and even recreated Lauda's crash at the same location at the Nürburgring where the real event happened. It is in the final polishing phase at the moment ahead of being released in September.

The new featurette shows new portions of the film including Lauda's burns after his crash. It also has brief interviews with actors Daniel Brühl and Chris Hemsworth and director Ron Howard.

The film does not seem to be falling into the trap of just being a straight retelling of history. With the events being only 37 years in the past, anyone can hop onto Wikipedia and see who won the championship that year. The film really has to give insight into these drivers' lives.

Hopefully, Niki Lauda will give his reaction to the film after he has seen it. While Hunt died at 45 in 1993 of a heart attack, Lauda is still alive and involved in motorsports as one of the major players within the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team.
