The VR-01 was the Virgin Racing challenger for the 2010 FIA F1 World Championship.
The VR-01 was created by the design company Wirth Research using computational fluid dynamics rather than using a wind tunnel. The Virgin Racing F1 project was launched in December 2009, with the presentation of Lucas di Grassi and Timo Glock as offcial drivers of the team.
The first tests were done in Jerez, when Virgin joined the rest of the F1 field for the second winter test.
