Volkswagen Tiguan (Germany, 2007-present)

The Tiguan is a compact crossover vehicle (CUV) based on the PQ35 platform of the Volkswagen Golf. It was launched in 2007 and announced a year earlier at the Los Angeles International Motor Show. The name of the car was chosen by over 350,000 voters through the Auto Bild magazine and web site. Tiguan is a combination of the German words Tiger and Leguan.

All Tiguans are equipped with V4 engines, available in two bodystyles and three trim levels:Trend & Fun, Sport & Style and Track & Field. In 2010 the Tiguan R was launched on the European market.
