that the Adam shares a platform with at its Eisenach, Germany, factory. The reduced production is due to lower winter demand and slowing sales in southern Europe.

"We are having some down days in October, mainly because of the Corsa production, a model which is in the later stages of its life cycle," said an Opel spokesperson.

Adam production began in January, and it has built 41,000 units through July of this year.
