The SR1 was introduced in 2012 as an entry level sports-prototype racing car but it was actually designed for the trackday driver. The car was developed by the same engineers that developed the LMP2 prototype race car, SR9, and aims to appeal to both the driver and the passenger.

Like previous Radical models, the SR1 is powered by the RPE-Suzuki engine that delivers 210hp and is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission. Maximum speed is set at 222km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 3.6 seconds.
