SOVAM (acronym of Société des Véhicules André Morin) was founded by André MORIN in Parthenay, Deux Severes, France, in 1930, initially as a coachbuilder. The first Sovam prototype was presented at 1965 Paris Motor Show and the first car was launched in 1966. Sovam’s met with an immediate success. Sovam built utility, commercial, passenger and sports cars and participated in various races. In 1968 the company was facing financial problems and decided to abandon car making in 1969 to concentrate on airport ground handling equipment.
