This prototype shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show features hybrid technology and has CO2 emissions of 70g/km thanks to two 109bhp 80kW electric motors which are able power the supercar over a distance of 15.5 miles. The 918 Spyder is powered by a 3.4-litre V8 petrol 500bhp engine which boasts the supercar up to 320 km/h and from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The German carmaker is expected to approve a limited series production of the model when it reaches a certain level of guarantees. The new Porsche 918 Spyder might become the most expensive model of the German brand’s history. According to Bloomberg, revealing information from Porsche AG insiders, the estimated price of the 198mph supercar should be above the 453,000 euro Carrera GT.
