Volvo Posts 14% Sales Increase for July, Still Down for the Year

is finally breaking into the Chinese market. For July, sales there were up 61.6% to 4,640 cars, compared to this year where Volvo is up 37.5% in China. Worldwide, Volvo sales were up 14% to 33,650 cars. From January to July, Volvo sales are down 3.2% to 242,767 cars. It posted gains in every major region for July.

European Union sales were up 16.8% for July to 17,056. It is still down in Europe from January to July with sales down 8% to 126,839. Success there was attributed to strong sales of the V40V40 (modern) Gen.1Volvo V40 (modern) Gen.1Sweden, 2013 > present266 versions

Sales in the United States were up 3.3% in July to 5,908 cars. For the year from January to July, it has sold 38,486, down 4.6%. The S60 and XC60 take up a majority of US sales.
