that will be reaching the European market later in July. This new line has a more aggressive design and has been designed to create a more emotional connection with customers.

The new design elements of the Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine include redesigned front and rear bumpers and side skirts that are intended to give the vehicle an image of an off-road. Skoda will market the ScoutLine versions with 16 or 17 inches wheels.

The engine range is identical to the one currently offered with the Rapid Spaceback, except for the Greenline versions. Therefore the Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine will be available with three petrol engines with outputs from 90 to 125hp and two diesel engines with 90 and 115hp.

Skoda is positioning the new ScoutLine to attract younger buyers than those who are part of the normal customers of the Czech brand. This is the same strategy used for the launch of Monte Carlo versions of the Rapid Spaceback in 2014 and the Fabia in February this year.

The brand also mentions that since the launch of the model in 2013 105,000 units of the Rapid Spaceback have been sold in Europe. Of this amount 72,400 units were sold in 2014.
