QX30 reveals future premium SUV in Geneva

Concept shares the same platform with the Q30

concept, a vehicle that serves as a preview for a future premium compact SUV model designed for a new generation of customers.

For the new model Infiniti wants to give a distinctive approach to the premium compact segment design that goes beyond the functionality and conformity that would be expected in this type of vehicle.

. With a coupe look the vehicle is intended to serve drivers on the urban day-to-day but also on the road.

The concept is powered by a turbo 2.0-liter petrol engine, which is part of a new generation of engines that will appear in future models of the brand over the next two years. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. A Haldex-based all-wheel drive system is also available.

Regarding its' most direct opponents the QX30, with 4430mm length, 1815mm wide and 1520mm tall is wider and lower than the X1 and narrower than the Q3. Regarding the Q30 the QX30 is 30mm higher  and offers a ground clearance of 192mm. Both QX30 and Q30 share the same modified version of the Mercedes A/B-Class.

The Q30 production model is already confirmed for 2015 and the QX30 should follow. In addition performance versions of both models are also being considered.
