compact crossover will not be unveiled until the LA Auto Show in November, and production will not begin until December. But Porsche is already increasing its sales estimate for the brand to 200,000 units a year for 2014 thanks to the estimated popularity of the new car. Porsche believes that it will hit its 200,000 unit sales goal four years ahead of schedule.

Porsche believes that it will sell less than 60,000 Macans in 2014 with sales growing even more in subsequent years. It is estimated to become Porsche's bestselling car.

The Macan will retail for around €45,000 in Germany, €4,000 less than even the BoxsterBoxster Gen.3 [981]Porsche Boxster Gen.3 [981]Germany, 2012 > 20167 versions

in Germany. However, the company does not intend to dilute its position in the market by selling every cheaper cars.

"We will stick to our business model to find the sweet spot: offering one car less than the market can absorb.

"Porsche's global market share will not change greatly because global demand for individual mobility is increasing. It will stay at around 0.2 percent," said Bernhard Maier, Porsche head of marketing.

Porsche sold 143,096 cars in 2012, so even if Porsche reaches its sales goal for the Macan with no other change, it will surpass its goal in 2014. In the first half of 2013, Porsche has sold 78,000 cars. It had originally planned to hit 200,000 sales in 2018.
