for a fault with the steering wheel that could cause loss of steering. The cars were built in the UK and Japan between 2002 and 2006.

The problem is linked to a bolt used in the steering wheel that may not have been properly tightened. If it comes loose, the steering wheel will lose its link to the steering rack and will stop functioning. It has not reported any accidents related to the loose bolt yet. The fix is simply to tighten the bolt or replace the steering wheel in some cases.

The recall affects cars worldwide, except for North America where the Micra is not sold, and the Cube was not introduced until 2009.
