for the 2014 racing season. The latest car is closely based on the Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDCClio R.S. 200 EDCRenault Clio R.S. 200 EDCFrance, 2013 > 20001 photo
, but the racing version weighs less and is tuned specifically for track use.

The latest Clio Cup takes the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the Renaultsport and tunes it to 220hp and 200lb-ft of torque. Power is transmitted via a six-speed sequential gearbox controlled via either steering wheel-mounted paddles or gearshift. Its monocoque chassis is strengthened with a welded steel roll cage, and it rides on lightened 17in wheels with either Michelin or Dunlop tires. The suspension and axle ratios are adjustable to set the car up for specific tracks. The front brakes are enlarged to 320mm, and the rear enlarged to 260mm. There are separate master cylinders for the front and rear, and both ends come with four-piston Brembo calipers.

The engine and transmission are controlled by a programmable ECU with a data acquisition system.

The exterior gets larger front and rear spoilers and a larger rear diffuser that increase downforce over the standard car. The rear spoiler alone creates 40kg (88lb) of downforce at 120mph.

Cup in 1966, and it has produced four generations of Clio Cup cars.

The Clio Cup will be eligible to race in multiple series in Europe, and the one-make racing series will act as a support race to the British Touring Car Championship in the UK.

Prices start at €39,900 plus local VAT.
