Lotus Close to Finishing New Esprit

has had a very poor year. There was a huge controversy has its CEO Dany Bahar left the company in the summer. The last time Lotus discussed its annual sales in September, it had sold 818 cars for the year. However, 2013 might be a better year for the ailing sports car company. It appears that Lotus is almost done with the new EspritEspritLotus EspritUnited Kingdom, 2010 > present4 photos
, and but the company does not know when it will go on sale. 

According to Autocar, the Esprit will use a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with a power regeneration system and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. There is no word on the engine's exact specifications, but it is reported to have around 650hp.

There is also no word about where Lotus is sourcing the engine. Currently, all of their engines are from ToyotaToyotaToyotaJapan, 1937 > present155 models

, but that engine does not come from Toyota with twin-turbos. The version used in the 600h L has 438hp.
