sold 25,176 cars globally in October, up 10% over a year ago. It has sold 294,291 cars in the first ten months of the year, up 35% over last year.

For the first ten months North American sales are up 15%, up 41% in Europe and up 38% in Asia. Taken on their own sales in China were up 78% and up 21% UK for the year.

"During a very competitive year for premium car sales, and in an increasingly uncertain economic environment, I am delighted to see strong demand for our products and that we are still performing well across all our key markets," said Phil Popham, head of Jaguar Land Rover sales operations.

Split by brand for October, Land Rover sold 22,166 vehicles worldwide, up 17%, and Jaguar sold 3,010 cars, down 24%. It predicts that the loss of sales from Jaguar was due to Hurricane Sandy in the US and buyers waiting for the 2013 model year cars.
