, a vehicle that is probably the most charismatic and unique version of the iconic British sports model.

The new vehicles that will be produced by Jaguar are the six units of the original series of 18 vehicles that were not built but were part of the original 'Lightwweight' project. The initial goal of the project that started in 1963 was to produce a dozen and a half special versions of competition for the GT category, but only 12 units were eventually produced, the last one in 1964.

Now Jaguar is preparing to give a new life to the six missing vehicles, giving them the original numbering of the chassis.

Derek Weale, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Heritage Business states that "this is an incredibly exciting project for Jaguar. The E-TypeE-TypeJaguar E-TypeUnited Kingdom, 1961 > 19753 series

is an iconic model, and the 'Lightweight' version is the most admired of all. We could not miss the opportunity to complete the original series of 18 vehicles 50 years after the creation of the last Lightweight."

The new E-Type 'Lightweight' will be produced entirely handcrafted by the most experienced experts of the brand. Each vehicle will be built in accordance with the exact specifications of the original 1963 models, including the inline six-cylinder engine and 3.8 liter displacement. Customers can custom the interior and the aluminum body, paint and stickers from sponsors finishes and some mechanical changes.

The weight reduction provided by the original 'Lightweight'models was 114 kg in comparison to a series E-Type thanks to the body panels and engine block produced entirely in aluminum, the absence of some interior trim and a large number of additional reduction measurements of the final weight, including sliding windows.
