. Not only was it a wild, carbon fiber-bodied version of the Aventador with no top, its seats were made from a carbon fiber fabric that is proprietary to Lamborghini. Now, we are getting some more details about that fabric.

The seat's two-piece shells were made from Forged Composite that was first shown on the suspension and monocoque of the Sesto ElementoSesto ElementoLamborghini Sesto ElementoItaly, 2010 > 20106 photos
. Forged Composite was created by Lamborghini and Callaway Golf Co. It is made from 500,000 intertwined, randomly oriented fibers per square inch.

On top of this material was Lamborghini's new carbon fiber fabric, called CarbonSkin, that is bonded to the seat and sewn in the front. The material was patented by Lamborghini and is made from woven carbon fiber in a 2x2 twill that is soaked in a special resin. When it is finished, the material is strong, soft and flexible. It is easy to shape and work with. However, it is not breathable.

“You can imagine all the uses in applications that require flexible, light, and strong materials. For sure this material is a step forward in the standard conception of automotive interiors," said Luciano De Oto, head of the Lamborghini Advanced Composite Research Center.

It could theoretically be used on clothing, and its strength and light weight would also work well on luggage. De Oto also said that CarbonSkin has passed Lamborghini's wear tests hinting that the material could be used in future vehicles.
