Produced by Japanese automaker Honda from 1999 until 2006, the HR-V is a mini SUV whose name is an abbreviation for High Rider Vehicle. Introduced in order to respond for the demand of vehicles the benefits of SUVs, such as increased cargo room, higher visibility, and mixing it with the maneuverability, performance and fuel economy of a smaller car.
Known as one of the earliest low emissions vehicles the HR-V had as main contenders the Toyota Rav4 and the Land Rover Freelander.
