Renault is making a push into India. It has already announced two models for the country- the Koleos and Fluence. The Pulse hatchback will be the third product in Renault's Indian line. It fits well in addition to the compact SUV Koleos and Fluence sedan. Renault plans to bring two other models to India later in 2012 - the Duster and a sedan. Renault thinks that the Pulse will be its biggest success in India where four out of five cars are compacts. The Pulse is based on the Nissan Micra platform.

The Pulse is a very basic, small hatchback that Renault means for entry-level buyers in India.  It is powered by a 1.5 liter diesel engine. Renault did not say which version of this engine that it will use, as it has produced it in 85hp and 105hp versions.

The Pulse was designed at Renault's Design Center in Mumbai, and it will be built in Chennai. The engine will be made at the same facility.

Renault will show the Pulse at the New Dehli Motor Show in January 2012.

'The Pulse is based on the Nissan Micra platform.' -> Come on, it is simply and purely a Nissan Micra, it is only a re-badging.
