52 mins, part 1, that's one to watch couch potato style at home! :-) Looks very interesting, from all the "vintage" documentaries I've seen it sounds like it's always the same narrator, who is he?

I also must say that, despite loving every era of F1, I have a soft spot for atmo engines, so I would go for the post-turbo era one's up until the V10's as the zenith for me.

I believe they were first broadcast on the BBC as two part series, hence the longer run times. I also prefer normally aspirated F1 engines but it looks like turbos are the future. Either way, the documentary is incredible. We get to see an F1 engine being built and the early stages of modern electronic engine management. It's also fun to compare the oily, cluttered shops of that era with the surgically clean shops that are standard today.

Very interesting documentary. Thank you for sharing it here. Didn't know of its existence before I saw it here.
