Dodge was founded by the Dodge Brothers in 1914. The company knew success from the beginning, since its first car, a touring automobile, sold relatively well. Until the end of WWI, Dodge diversified its range of cars, producing sedans to roadsters and trucks. In 1928, Dodge was bought by Chrysler and it is until today part of Chrysler Group LLC.
After DaimlerChrysler broke up in 2007, Fiat Group and Chrysler reached an agreement in 2010. The Italian company, that holds a majority share in the Chrysler group, is planning to re-badge and share models between the different brands, including Dodge, in the future.
