You can buy anything on Ebay including the ugliest Jaguar E-Type ever made for the low, low price of $10,000. However, look past the hideous body and notice that the builder installed a 500ci (8.2l), supercharged V8 from a 1974 Cadillac Eldorado. Because that car was front-wheel drive, the seller flipped it around and put it in the rear of the Jaguar. The transmission is the same unit that was in the Eldorado. Thankfully, the seller notes that the car has disc brakes at all four corners because you are going to need them. The seller warns that the car pulls hard to the right under hard acceleration because it does not have a limited-slip differential.
This project is like Frankenstein's monster. The seats are from a Datsun 260Z, and the headlights come from a 2004 Ford Taurus.
This seller does deserve credit on a few points. He says that the body is all steel and that no fiber glass was used. So it might be ugly, but it was hard to make. Secondly, he has a detailed build web site that is linked at the bottom.
This Cadillac/Jaguar/whatever is a prostitute of the automotive world. You would want to drive it once, but owning it would be a nightmare.
